Five girls pose for prom photo – later it causes a frenzy online due to little hidden detail

Prom is one of the highlights of any young adult’s life. In 2017, a group of young girls wore their finest dresses and dolled up the best they could for the exciting occasion. As high schoolers do, they posed for photos and selfies and posted them online. However, one of the pictures had a very interesting hidden detail that got the internet talking. The detail was sneaking and downright impressive to everyone who caught it.

A High Schooler’s Ingenuity On Prom Night

In the US, the legal drinking age is 21. Around the world, legal drinking age standards are often lower. For example, in the UK, Australia, and most European countries, it’s 18. Regardless of the law, we all know that minors often get their hands on alcohol in one way or the other, and these teens were no exception.

High school students are notorious for being rule-breakers, and it’s almost expected that they will try to get alcohol at the party for prom. That’s why there are also prom chaperones who are experts in maintaining control and vigilance. They usually notice if any student has consumed alcohol and stop it immediately. However, they are also humans. Sometimes, the students’ ingenuity is too much.

So, the viral picture in question shows exactly that. One of the senior attendees at the prom, who also posed for the picture, was actually carrying a decently-sized flask of alcohol. But where is it, you may ask? Well, take a closer look at her clutch purse. Notice anything weird? If you did, then yes, that is actually an extra-large flask disguised as a silver purse! It’s a great example of where fashion meets function.

The Great Smuggling Attempt

The purse-cum-flask belongs to Eleanor Clarke, a student from the United Kingdom. She had no intention of letting the law prevent her or her friends from having fun on prom night. So, she wore one of her prettiest gowns and brought along a metallic clutch purse as one of her accessories. However, when the moment was appropriate, she let her friends know the true nature of the bag. Unfortunately, this ability to smuggle in liquid luck meant sacrificing space to carry her things in.

She had posted the picture with the revelation on X, previously known as Twitter. She was surprised about how no one noticed her unusually large prom clutch. Of course, we don’t know for sure whether the clutch was filled with alcohol. Apparently, she had acquired it from Tiger at a cost of just $12. This is a fine example of how, sometimes, the best place to hide something is right in front of the seeker’s eyes.
