Shaquille O’Neal has, without a doubt, lived a good life. The basketball player has made good business decisions and investments, and he also made a lot of money when he was in the NBA.
He still gets what he has worked for today.
Shaq is one of the wealthiest players in the world. He is 49 years old. He spends a lot of money on himself and his family, but he also helps other people. In fact, he is known for being nice, and many of his acts of kindness have gone viral.
Shaq promised himself that he would do at least one good thing every time he left the house. It looks like he has been doing what he said he would do.
Shaq’s most recent good deed was to help a family of 11 in Texas who are known on Instagram as “The Collins Kids.”
Karissa, the mother of the family, wrote on Instagram on February 23 about how Shaq had helped them.
Last month, the athlete surprised the family by showing up and taking them to dinner at Babe’s Chicken.
“It was so much fun to just hang out and eat dinner with him,” wrote 36-year-old Karissa on Instagram and Facebook.
Shaq didn’t want it to end with just a dinner, though. He took his family to a Mercedes-Benz shop the next day and got them a brand-new 15-person van.
“He didn’t even know we were getting too big for our 12-person van, and the air conditioning wasn’t always the best, so this is such an amazing blessing,” said Karissa, who is expecting another child. “They didn’t have any in stock, so we had to order one and make it to our specifications. It’s supposed to come in July.”
Facebook Mandrae Collins is a manager at a Mercedes-Benz store in Fort Worth. He is married to Karissa. The Harlem Globetrotters used to have him on their team.
After that, Shaq took them to dinner at the Rainforest Café, where he paid for another table’s whole meal because he didn’t know they were missionaries from out of state.
When the basketball player found out that their waitress’s car had broken down that day, he gave her a big $1,000 tip.
Mandrae, who was 38 years old, owned a truck that had been driving around for a while without air conditioning or heat. Shaq didn’t know about this, but when he saw the car, he took the family to a Ford shop and bought the dad a new truck!
Shaq did more for his family than just feed them and buy them expensive gifts. He also gave them gifts that they couldn’t buy.
“He also spent time encouraging us, loving on our children, and speaking words of life into our family,” Karissa said. I don’t know what to say.
When a Rooted in Christ Boutique owner and writer, Karissa, was asked by a Facebook fan how she knew Shaq, she said it was through Instagram.
In a post from January 12, Karissa explained how Shaq got to know them.
“A few months ago, he reached out to me on Instagram and sent a video to my kids about how much he loved watching them and how they could call him Uncle Shaq,” she wrote.
Shaq said he would like to visit them sometime, and Karissa said that was fine.
“Of course, we’d love to hang out with and get to know him. “She said, “When I was a kid, I watched him play baseball, and now my kids love seeing him in all of his commercials and movies.”
On Karissa’s birthday, Shaq was in town, so he stopped by to wish her a happy day. She used the word “surreal” to talk about the event that only happens once in a lifetime.
“He came in, and the kids and he played “Watch Your Mouth.” “He loved on them, encouraged them, kept them busy, took pictures with them, gave them gifts, encouraged us as parents, and just showed us so much love,” Karissa said.
Karissa said that her two young children, Anthym and Anchor, are scared of people they don’t know. But right away, they liked Shaq, so they asked him to hold them.
Shaq’s efforts to help his community are very inspiring, and we should all try to do the same in our own small ways.
