Michael Jackson’s close friend Elton John claims that the star’s fame made him ill and that he developed a “mental illness.”
He added that being around Jackson was “disturbing” in his brand-new memoir. At the beginning of his career, the 72-year-old singer admitted that he was friends with Michael, but as the latter’s notoriety grew, he saw how Michael evolved. When they first met, Michael Jackson was 13 years old, and Elton called him “the most charming youngster you could imagine.”
But in the years that followed, he started to distance himself from reality and the outside world, much like Elvis Presley. ” Every time I saw him as an adult, I assumed he had completely lost his mind. God alone knows what was going on in his head, and why he was so full of medicine.”
“It was only recently brought to our attention. He declared that he was extremely mentally ill and annoying to be around. At one of Elton’s parties, where he was invited, he got lost and was later found playing with the housekeeper’s son.”
“For whatever reason, he couldn’t bear being among adults,” the artist said. Several disclosures were revealed by Elton John in his book. He talked about his relationship with his late mother Sheila Farebrother and acknowledged that he had a difficult upbringing.
Zachary, age 8, and Elijah, age 6, who Sheila shares with her husband David Furnish, are two sons who Sheila has never met. David was never her favorite. It was never received warmly. He never insisted on seeing the children. Elton John said, “But I’m glad they didn’t know her because they chastised her in the same manner she chastised me.”
