Jennifer Garner chose to keep her family’s past alive.

Jennifer Garner's popularity stems, in part, from the fact that she comes across as friendly and approachable. Her Instagram is loaded with positive posts about motherhood and life in general.

Jennifer Garner's mom is named Patricia English Garner. Patricia, who grew up on a farm near Locust Grove, Oklahoma, had many fond childhood memories connected to that time in her life.

Even the story of how her parents came to own the land that has been in their family for so long still stands vivid in her mind. In 1936, her family purchased the farm with her father's World War I service bonus.

The land was $700 short of the family’s budget at the time of acquisition. When her soldier father and civilian mother bought the property, they did not even own a car. They had to pay someone to drive them out to the land.

My parents didn’t own a car and, upon learning of the available land, had to pay someone to take them there. A Native American burial took up one acre of the farm’s 20 total land area, so the farm itself comprised of 19 acres, as Patricia said.

My mother told me that my father once sat on his heels and haggled for twenty dollars all day. They settled on a price, and the deal was finalized and the land was bought. Ever since then,” she concluded, “it’s been in our family.

It lacked modern conveniences like indoor plumbing and running water, as was to be expected of a building built at the period. Jennifer’s mom grew up on the 20-acre piece of land and has fond memories of it.

The property has had multiple sets of proprietors throughout the years as its inhabitants have grown up and moved away. As a result of frequent sales and purchases, it passed from one member of the family to another. Then, in 2017, Jennifer Garner made the bold move of buying the property for herself.

She had the foresight to realize the farm’s potential as a business and not just a sentimental investment. Her uncle Robert and aunt Janet, the previous owners of the farm, were hired to assist her.

The land had lain fallow for 40 years after its first planting and cultivation. Her mother and her siblings were once active farmers who raised and sold pecans in addition to lettuce, radishes, and potatoes.

That’s something Jennifer felt should be revisited. Co-founding “Once Upon a Farm” with Ari Raz, John Foraker, and Cassandra Curtis, she is responsible for its inception. It was proposed that organic fruits and vegetables be grown and processed into kid-friendly meals.

Once upon a time… we dreamed of bringing baby food back to its roots with organic fruits and vegetables harvested from local farmers, mixed with affection, and served fresh from the refrigerator,” she recalled of her longstanding inspiration for the venture. We hoped one day to be able to provide our kids meals that provide everything they need nutritionally, and then some.

Jennifer has made it clear that she values the opportunity to provide healthy food to working mothers.

The company launched in 2018, and its success has skyrocketed in that time. Products can be found on the shelves of major American retailers and on the company’s website.

Honestly, it is so sweet that she not only bought the farm knowing it had sentimental value but also made it into a profitable venture.
