At a recent national policy conference, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Tom Homan shared a heartbreaking account that underscores the dangers of human trafficking across the country.Homan revealed that ICE agents had rescued a 14-year-old girl who was found living with two adult men who had allegedly trafficked her. According to the agency, the young girl is pregnant, believed to be a result of being forced into prostitution.
“We just found one two days ago — a 14-year-old girl, pregnant, after being trafficked,” Homan said. “We’re doing everything we can to care for her, physically and mentally.”
Homan, a father himself, emphasized the agency’s commitment to protecting children and vulnerable individuals. “Despite how we’re sometimes portrayed, we deeply care about these kids,” he said.
He went on to highlight how widespread human trafficking remains and stressed ICE’s resolve to combat the issue. “This is happening every day. And we’re doing everything we can to put an end to it.”
