Teen Killed in Crash with School Bus While Driving to Pick Up Sister

Tragedy struck Panola County, Mississippi, when 17-year-old Katelyn Ray died after crashing into the back of a South Panola School bus around 7:15 a.m. on Highway 15.

Katelyn was on her way to pick up her sister from work when the accident occurred. When she failed to arrive, her family grew worried and began searching for her. They later received the devastating call from highway patrol confirming the fatal crash.

Katelyn had recently earned her driver’s license and was taking GED classes. Her sudden loss has deeply impacted her family and the tight-knit Panola County community.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
