An Australian traveler, Erin Langworthy, fell 360 feet into crocodile-infested waters after her bungee cord snapped during a 2012 jump over the Zambezi River in Zambia. The terrifying moment was captured on video, showing Langworthy plunging into the rushing river below.
“The cord snapped and I started falling,” she recalled. Despite being dragged by the current with her feet still tied, she managed to swim and free herself when the cord got caught on rocks. A staff member from the bungee company rescued her from the water.
Langworthy said, “I started coughing up blood and began to worry about internal injuries. I just felt exhausted and struggled to process what had happened.”
Before the jump, she had jokingly written to her mother, “I’m doing a bungee jump tomorrow, so I’ll say goodbye… only joking!” That postcard now serves as a cherished reminder of her survival. Read more below
