Architect Pat Bernatz revamped his own 1890s home in Lincoln Heights, East LA, after seeing its potential despite its rundown state.

Over two years, they planned and renovated, fixing structural issues and redesigning the kitchen and dining room to maximize views of downtown and the Hollywood sign.
