Some days ago, a lady with over three decades of cleaning experience shared a simple yet effective tip with me. With this method, your floors will stay exceptionally clean and resist gathering dust.
Many folks find that after cleaning, floors soon become dusty again and can develop an unpleasant odor. This is particularly noticeable in the summer when improperly cleaned floors emanate an unpleasant smell in every room.
This time-tested method ensures cleaner floors that do not easily accumulate dust. The first step is to thoroughly sweep the floor. This is crucial because trying to wash a dirty floor can be quite a challenge.
Next, add the following ingredients to your cleaning bucket:
Start by adding a small amount of salt to the water. Salt will help dry the floor quickly and acts as a disinfectant and sterilizer.
Include a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Its robust oil-removing capabilities are perfect for tackling cooking oil or food spills, leaving your floor cleaner than ever.
A dash of white vinegar or lemon juice is also beneficial. These ingredients work wonders in softening stains, making it easier for you to achieve a sparkling finish.
Adopt a bit of alcohol to sanitize and sterilize the surface. This ensures the floor stays free from mold growth.
Sprinkle in a little baking soda. Renowned for its strong disinfecting power, baking soda efficiently removes even stubborn stains from your floors.
The key element in this mixture is a splash of fabric softener. During summer, floors can get dry and prone to static. Static floors easily collect stains and dirt. By adding fabric softener, you can prevent static electricity, thus reducing the likelihood of dust and grime settling.
Once you’ve added all the ingredients, give the mixture a good stir to ensure everything is well combined. Then, mop your floors as you typically would, using this enhanced cleaning solution.
