Google maps along with Google Earth are used by many people to navigate from one place to another. There are also many who search Google Earth to see what they can discover.
Recently, a man was looking on Google Earth and he saw something that was out of place. He wasn’t necessarily looking for something strange, but he found it when he was looking at a neighborhood where he used to live and he saw something below the surface of the water.
After alerting authorities, they were able to pull a car out of the water and discovered that it contained the skeletal remains of William Moldt. He had been missing since November, 1997 from Lantana, Florida.
His girlfriend was waiting at home for him the evening that he disappeared. He had called her from a nightclub as he was leaving, telling her he would be home soon but he’d never arrived.
22 years later, his car was pulled from the water and a neighborhood and he gave an indication as to what may have happened. Records stated that he did not appear to be intoxicated when he left the nightclub, but he disappeared without a trace on that night.
The manager of the Grand Aisles housing development located near Palm Beach in Wellington, Florida, made the observation. After contacting authorities, they were looking into what the origin of the unknown car was.
You might be surprised to realize that the car has actually been visible since 2007 on Google Earth. There are many questions as to why nobody spotted it earlier.
It is thought that Moldt likely lost control of his car and veered off the road into the pond. There is no indication as to whether that is true, should so much time has passed since the initial event.
