The world couldn’t get enough of the Olympics over the past couple of weeks when it was in Paris. It seemed like everything was going well, and then the breakdancing competition occurred.
One of the breakdancers who took the world by surprise in this new Olympics event was Raygun. She danced her heart out, but unfortunately, the judges weren’t all that impressed. In addition, she has been ridiculed online for her efforts.
Now that the 2024 Paris Olympics have come to a close, it’s time to look back on all the special moments that we have enjoyed. In fact, many fans have enjoyed it so much that they are already looking forward to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics which will be taking place in four years.
That doesn’t mean that there aren’t changes, and some of those changes are rather shocking. For example, there will be one sport that is removed from the 2028 Olympics and it is going to be replaced by cricket.
Despite the fact that Breaking only made its Olympic debut this year, it is already on its way out and is not on the agenda for the 2028 Olympics.
That doesn’t mean that we didn’t have a lot of fun in 2024 watching the dance competition in Paris. This is especially true of Gunn, who has been circulating on social media, thanks to her unusual routine.
Gunn has taken a lot of flak over her dance, and now she is speaking out about it. She is also talking about the fact that Breaking will not be returning in 2028.
She said: “It was disappointing it was decided that it wouldn’t be in L.A., particularly before we even had a chance to show it.
“That was possibly a little premature. I wonder if they’re kicking themselves now?
“What is an Olympic sport? What are the similarities between dressage and artistic swimming and the 100m sprint and the pentathlon?
“Breaking is clearly athletic, it clearly requires a whole level of dedication across a number of different aspects. It’s really bringing a new level of excitement.”
Despite the fact that she has had a lot of negativity thrown her way, Raygun tries to be as optimistic as possible. She even wrote about it on social media, saying: “Don’t be afraid to be different. Go out there and represent yourself, you never know where that’s gonna take you.”
Well said, Raygun!
