Man Is Sued For Not Sharing After Winning $1,300,000,000 Lottery

Many people probably wonder what it would be like to win $1 billion in the lottery. One man now knows what this is like, as he won $1.3 billion in the Mega Millions jackpot.

The individual, who lives in Maine and is anonymous at this time was able to take the money home. Unfortunately, things weren’t all positive because he is now in a legal battle with his family after winning the money.

According to the family, he has gone back on promises of sharing the money if he ever won big with the lottery. This included covering his father’s medical expenses with a million-dollar trust fund.

In addition, the man had something to say about the situation because he accused his daughter’s mother, only identified by a pseudonym, of going against a nondisclosure agreement. Apparently, she was not allowed to tell the rest of the family about him winning the lottery before his daughter was 18 years old, which is in 2032.

Never before in the history of the United States has anyone walked away with such a big prize. For understandable reasons, he has decided not to go public so nobody knows his name but it has been a difficult situation.

According to court documents, the parties involved say that he has engaged in misconduct. He is identified as John Doe in the court documents, and Smith says that it was him who revealed his win.

Meanwhile, his father also claims that he would reveal the win himself and is suggesting the way that he should share the winnings. He wrote: “February or March of 2023, my son came to my house in [REDACTED], and informed me and my wife that he won a large amount of money in the Maine State Lottery.

“I understand that my son has stated that he told me nothing about his money ‘other than the simple fact that I had won.’ That is not true.”

According to the father, he had never asked for money but his son did promise about how he could share it. This included setting up a trust fund of $1 million for the father and covering his medical expenses.

Unfortunately, the father is claiming that his relationship with his son deteriorated quickly and he is not following through on his promises.

I guess money can’t buy family happiness.
