Bruce Willis and Emma Heming have been wed for well over a decade.
Heming is keeping her promise to marry in sickness and in health despite the fact that the celebrity has been given the diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia.
She can’t help but go back on certain memories of Bruce from when he was healthier, though.
After learning that her spouse had frontotemporal dementia, Emma Heming continued on. In order to ensure that her husband gets the greatest care possible, the former model is collaborating with dementia experts.
“My grief can be paralyzing but I’m learning how to live along side it. As my step-daughter [Scout Willis] told me, grief is the deepest and purest form of love. I hope you find some comfort in that too,” Emma mentioned last year.
Emma shared a photo on Instagram in March 2023 with a person she named as Teepa Snow, who aids in educating families about working with dementia. Heming talked about how Snow is giving her more tools for her “dementia care toolbox.”
Heming’s commitment to giving her spouse the best care possible is evident.
She did, however, learn about a fresh Instagram function that week. Instagram’s memory feature allows you to view images or videos that you’ve previously shared. Heming was also given a recollection she had posted on Willis a year prior in which she had praised her.
“What’s this new Memory thingy on IG!?” she asked in the new caption she attached to the video when she reposted it. My biggest fan, omg. I have a crush on him.
According to the video, Bruce is “crazy” with his wife’s skincare line, Cocobaba. It is obvious that Heming may be daydreaming about a time when Willis was performing better than he is currently.
Recently, images of the celebrity showing him out and about in Los Angeles and drinking coffee surfaced. Willis has maintained a low profile ever since receiving his initial aphasia diagnosis, making this sighting of him unusual.
Regarding Bruce’s health and diagnosis, the family has been extraordinarily open and transparent. They previously released a message on Instagram describing the action star’s health situation.
His daughter Rumer Willis wrote, “Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis.”
She continued, “In the spirit of that, we wanted to give you an update about our beloved husband, father and friend since we now have a deeper understanding of what he is experiencing.
“Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).”
She said that despite the discomfort, they were nonetheless appreciative that Willis had been given the right diagnosis at last. Actor Bruce Willis apparently struggled with his deteriorating cognitive abilities, so directors who had previously worked with him reportedly tried to make things as simple as possible for the actor.
The cast and crew of the last film the actor is scheduled to perform in, White Elephant, claim that they would “feed” him lines, and sometimes he would not even understand the words, only mimicking what he had been told.
In response to the incident, a crew member later remarked, “It was less of an annoyance and more like: ‘How do we not make Bruce look bad?’”
“Someone would give him a line and he didn’t understand what it meant. He was just being puppeted.”
The Willis family has our condolences as they go through this trying time. Please join us in thinking of them and praying for them.
