There are times when a person may come from very difficult beginnings but they rise above it and do some spectacular things in their life. That was the case with this celebrity who was given up for adoption when she was a baby.
They didn’t want her because they were more focused on their careers, so they wanted to give her up for adoption. They ended up lying about her background but eventually, the truth came out.
She was born on May 8, 1964 in Los Angeles. At the age of 24 hours, she was taken in by her adoptive parents, Barbara Crane and Paul Gilbert. They also adopted Jonathan, her younger brother.
Unfortunately, the marriage between her adoptive parents did not last and they separated when she was six. She still had fond memories of her father, however, saying: “My father was the most incredibly talented, vivacious, funny, loving, fair person I ever knew.”
Her father then died in 1976 and most people thought he had a stroke. Eventually, it would come out that her father took his own life due to injuries from World War II that caused constant pain.
Eventually, however, the young girl grew up to be a child star. In fact, she was one of the most noticeable faces of her day. Of course, were talking about Melissa Gilbert.
You probably know Melissa Gilbert because of the role that she played on the television series, Little House in the Prairie. She was very successful and continues to live on that success, but now she spends the majority of her time with her family.
At this time, Melissa is married to her third husband, Timothy Busfield. They were grandparents to 8 grandchildren as of May 2022. They met as he walked out of a bar and she was outside waiting for a friend.
They were married in April 2013 in Santa Barbara, California. They didn’t have guests at the wedding, it was only the two of them.
It’s interesting to learn more about the celebrities we may have known since we were young. We wish her all the best.
