The Heartwarming Story of Alba’s Adoption

Becoming a parent and feeling loved and cherished by our parents is how we envision a family. Sadly, life doesn’t always go according to plan, and Alba’s birth was no exception.

They Told Him He Could Only Adopt A Baby With An Illness, Disability, Or Behavioral Problems

Alba’s mother abandoned her at a young age, and even though twenty families took her in, they ultimately turned her away. But then, a glimmer of hope appeared in her life.

Luca Trapanese, a gay man living in Italy, faced numerous challenges when he decided to adopt a child. Despite the societal obstacles he encountered, he was eventually granted permission to adopt a young girl. This little girl happened to have Down syndrome, but that didn’t deter Luca. They formed an incredible bond that was evident to everyone around them.

When Luca set out to adopt a child, he was told that he could only adopt a child with a serious illness, significant disability, or behavioral issues. Little did they know, he would have been happy with any of those choices.

Finally, when Alba was just 13 days old in 2017, Luca officially became her father. By that point, twenty families had already declined the opportunity to adopt her due to her physical condition. But for Luca, Alba brought immeasurable happiness and fulfillment into his life, and he considered it a great honor to be her father. He took his role as a father very seriously.

Alba and Luca

Becoming a father had been a long journey for Luca, even though he had experience working in special needs facilities. It all began when his best friend passed away from cancer at the age of 14, leaving Luca deeply motivated to help those in need. He now assists people through his work with a Catholic charity.

When the chance to adopt a young girl arose, Luca wholeheartedly committed to being her father, despite not having a partner or living with anyone. Alba is a spirited and determined little girl who loves to sing and dance and is quite outgoing.

Although Luca admits to feeling terrified the first time he held a newborn, he instantly knew that they were meant to be together. He regularly shares updates about their life adventures on his Instagram account, where he has hundreds of thousands of followers. Together, they have weathered the storms of a pandemic and emerged stronger than ever.

We wish Luca and Alba a long and joyful life together, filled with love and happiness.
