Human beings have a natural sense of justice and if we hear something that triggers that feeling, it is difficult to control. That is what many people are experiencing now that they’ve heard about a father who is accused of killing his son.
In case you aren’t up on this particular story, the father forced his son to run on a treadmill. When the boy woke up one day and couldn’t gain his balance, they took him to the emergency room, where he died. He was only six years old at the time.
That father, Christopher Gregor, is now being accused of murdering his son, Cory. According to investigators, Cory suffered an acute traumatic injury to the heart just prior to dying.
In addition to that charge, he is being charged with endangering the welfare of a child. This is from footage taken from a local exercise facility in 2021. Gregor was forcing the child to use the treadmill and it appeared that he even bit his hand and continued to put him on the treadmill as the boy fell off.
Corey’s mother, Breanna Micciolo began to get concerned after seeing bruises on the boy’s body a few weeks after the video was recorded. Later, he was rushed to the hospital by his father and was intubated, coded twice, and passed away due to blunt force trauma.
On July 7, 2021, Gregor was arrested on child neglect charges after the video was reviewed by investigators. In March 2022, he was arrested again connected with his son’s death.
He is now being charged with murder after a doctor determined that the “pattern, distribution, and character of the injuries was consistent with ongoing abuse, and found that the manner of death was homicide.” He is now on trial.
Lindsay Carnevale was one of the nurses treating Cory after he was brought to the hospital by his father. In her testimony, she said that the father walked in and out of the room as he was being cared for by the attendants.
Corey was brought to the emergency room with bruises on his chest, chin, and temple. Gregor claimed that it was from riding bikes and playing football.
The nurse said that he also didn’t want them to contact the boy’s mother, claiming that she was a drug addict.
On the stand, the nurse claimed that the boy seized and that he was no longer breathing and his heart was not beating. The doctor started CPR and at that time, the father walked out and never returned.
The medical staff were the only ones who were with Corey when he died. The video showed Gregor walking in and out of the room before he broke down out in the hallway. The nurse said that he showed a lack of emotions.
When they retrieved his phone, they found out that he was searching: “Can your phone be traced in airplane mode?” and: “Can my car be tracked?”
He also searched: “There was a murder determination from an autopsy – how long to file charges?” He also wiped out thousands of texts between him and the mother at that time.
