We often think about celebrities and the life they live as being somewhat charmed. We don’t typically consider all of the problems they may be facing, but they may be facing large issues, just like you and me.
One individual who is known by millions and has certainly faced her fair share of problems is Shannon Doherty. On November 29, she came forward and talked about her battle with cancer and gave an update that people wanted to hear.
Unfortunately, Doherty has been battling with stage IV cancer and it seems as if the problem has spread. This isn’t anything new, because she’s been dealing with cancer for years but now she is saying that the cancer spread to her brain.
The diagnosis first took place in 2015, but now that eight years have passed, she is ready to talk openly about it and share her battle.
On January 5, doctors told her that her CT scan showed that the cancer had spread to her brain. She started with the first round of radiation on January 12 and said that the fear was obvious.
Doherty spoke about how she was extremely claustrophobic and had a lot going on in her life. She is thankful that her doctors and Cedars-Sinai were caring for her, but she said that the fear, turmoil, and timing of it all were what took a toll.
In the video, you can see tears rolling down her face when the first round of radiation was given. She decided that she didn’t want to simply post things that were negative, so she called her tumor “Bob”
When she talked about having Bob removed and dissected to see the pathology, she spoke of it as being one of the “scariest things I’ve ever been through in my entire life.”
She has made the decision to look at the positive side if at all possible. She says that she is not done living and doesn’t want to die, so she is hoping that things change for the better.
We wish her the best. You can see more in this video:
