Homeowner Tries To Remove Squatter And Gets Arrested

We sometimes hear stories about people who have difficulties with their homes. More recently, one of the problems that has been noted in some areas is a difficulty with squatters.

One homeowner found this to be more than just a difficult problem, as the 47-year-old was taken into custody after trying to take control of their home. Adele Andaloro saw that the $1 million family home that they had inherited from their parents was being occupied by someone else, and she found it to be enraging.

Unfortunately, this came to a head when she tried to start the sale process of the home last month. That was when she discovered that squatters had moved in and replaced the lock on the front door.

She was tired of having to deal with this situation so she brought the local news crew along when she visited the home. This happened on February 29, and she had a locksmith there to change the locks. Controversy was on the horizon.

Two people were escorted by police off the property. It seems as if the individuals who had come into the home were able to claim squatter’s rights after living 30 days in the residence.

She was concerned about the possibility of losing the home, saying: “By the time someone does their investigation, their work, and their job, it will be over 30 days and this man will still be in my home. I’m really fearful that these people are going to get away with stealing my home.”

The homeowner confronted one of the occupants directly and a woman inside the home was upset when reporters entered.

According to the officers, this was a landlord-tenant issue. She was charged with unlawful eviction because she change the locks without giving the new key. According to footage, she was led away in handcuffs by the police but they claim that no arrests were made.

It will be interesting to see where this one goes.
