Many of us grow up in a house that is not necessarily conducive to doing great things. We may even feel as if we are suppressed in some way or another, but it is up to us to overcome that difficulty and win in life.
That is the way life was for the little girl in the photo we have for you here. She grew up in a poor family with 11 siblings and life was not always easy for her. In fact, she was picked on because of her choice of clothing, but she was going to take life by storm.
One of the things that her siblings agreed on was the fact that she was one of the prettiest babies in the family. The family was impoverished but they knew that they had a lot of love to give. She would describe her life as growing up in poverty, but there were many poor people in the neighborhood.
The young girl, who is now grown up, also said that she owes her mother a big debt. She got her spirituality and creativity from her mother and it allowed her to be ambitious and to focus on her business. In fact, she says she got her go-getter drive from her father.
From the time she was very young, people began noticing her singing abilities. At first, they would notice at church but before long, she was singing elsewhere.
She had a real passion for music and decided to go after it with all of her heart. She says: “I’ve been writing since I was seven years old. I’ve always got something around to write on—chewing gum, papers, napkins in a restaurant—I never know when an idea is going to hit me.”
In case you haven’t guessed it yet, we are talking about Dolly Parton. She may have started out in a difficult situation, but she was able to overcome it and remain strong through life.
These days, Dolly Parton is a household name and she has become a huge star, worth over $500 million. Hard work paid off for her, and she used all of her skills and abilities to be well-known in the music industry.
Today, Dolly Parton is still singing and performing. She may not be quite as visible as she was in the past, but it’s still amazing to see her and to know that she is still rolling with the punches.
