Celine Dion has been the topic of discussion recently. In December, she had to cancel a few tour dates because of her health problems.
Those dates were being postponed, rather than canceled and she was hoping her health would improve during the time. She wanted to move ahead with the tour, but she also announced that some of the dates would be rescheduled.
As it turns out, Celine Dion is suffering from Stiff Person Syndrome. That rare neurological disorder causes muscle problems and it is incurable.
The news was bad, but it has gotten worse. Celine Dion has now canceled all of the tour dates for North America in 2023 and 2024. Essentially, the Tour has been scrapped altogether.
In speaking with CNN, a source said that she will likely never tour again. It went on to say that she was in a lot of pain.
Even though she is struggling, she is not giving in. She continues to do physical therapy on a daily basis and is sorry that she had to disappoint everyone.
In a statement, she said: “I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%. It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again. I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!”
The tickets for her tour will be refunded.
