There are times when we may see an actor so many times that we begin to feel as if we know them personally. That is how many people knew Arleen Sorkin, but we have sad news to tell for her fans.
Arleen Sorkin was an actress and comedian who played in soap operas and Batman shows. She died at the age of 67 on August 24 in Los Angeles. Her death was confirmed by Christopher Lloyd, her husband, and he said that she died of pneumonia along with battling multiple sclerosis.
When Arleen Sorkin got her start as an actress, she was playing a part in a female comedy troupe that was formed in 1978. They had a repertoire of several songs that were well-known at the time, although they aren’t as well known today.
She continued to work hard and she eventually was spotted by an NBC executive and recommended her to her now husband. She debuted on the soap opera, Days of Our Lives, playing the part of Calliope Jones Bradford.
Arleen continued to play that part and she had an impact on the show. People began to love the part that she played and she got a lot of fan mail. All in all, she played in more than 400 episodes of that soap opera until she retired from it in 2010.
She also played the voice part of Harley Quinn, the Joker’s sidekick in the series, Batman. Her voice played the part well, and she continued that voice character through video games and in the TV series.
Along with being an actress, she was also a writer. She worked on projects, such as the sitcom from the 1990s, Fired up. She was also a humanitarian.
We will miss her comedy and her contributions to the world of entertainment in so many different ways.
