You never know what the day is going to hold when you wake up in the morning. Some days turn out to be perfectly normal but others may hide tragedies of unspeakable depths.
That is what one family of the young boy is now experiencing after the unthinkable happened while he was on his way to his third birthday party. Josiah Toleafoa was in the parking lot of Play City, an indoor party venue in San Diego when he was hit by a car.
A witness who saw what happened said his mother was sobbing hysterically and the paramedics were working feverishly to save his life. Unfortunately, their efforts would not prove to be successful.
Joshua was taken to the Rady Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The 36-year-old driver of the vehicle who struck the young boy stayed on site and cooperated with authorities.
It doesn’t seem as if there were any drugs or alcohol involved in the accident.
A crowdfunding page was put up by family members and shared on social media. It said: “JOSIAH brought the family together- his incredible SMILE, LOVING HEART simply brought JOY to any room. There was no time to see him do amazing things. I KNOW HE WOULD HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.”
They also added: “We’re doing this gofundme to help with my sweet nephew’s funeral expenses and services for the little angel that touched so many lives in so many different ways before he was called to Heaven. Any amount would help, anything at all. We are so thankful to have loving family and friends to be with us and love us through this horrible tragedy and want to be able to put him to rest to say goodbye and never forget the little boy who loved with a tremendous heart.”
The owner of Clay City is also giving the family $2000 and the landlord is matching it.
There haven’t been any arrests made in the incident yet but it is still under investigation. We hope that the family is able to find peace and some comfort during this difficult time.
