One of the biggest moments in any person’s life is the moment that their child is born. It often marks the beginning of a very long and loving relationship, one that is meant to last a lifetime.
The unfortunate reality for some parents, however, is that things don’t quite go as well as they could. Sometimes it can be a tragedy that occurs and the parents may end up grieving for many years.
Lisa Hough understands the ups and downs of having a child when things don’t work out quite as they should. Their baby was born but unfortunately, his heart would not stay beating so they had to put him on life support.
It took a lot, but the parents decided that the best option would be to take the child off life support. They were told by the doctors that there really wasn’t any hope and that the baby would pass away within 10 minutes after the life-support was shut down.
The parents made the decision to turn off life support but then something happened that took everyone by surprise, including family, friends, and especially the doctors. They shared that moment on Facebook, and it is a beautiful thing to see.
You see, even though doctors said that the baby’s heart would stop beating, his heart kept going and it was nothing short of a miracle.
As soon as they removed life support, Karson began breathing on his own. They gave him a number of tests and he was able to perform them all, including coughing and swallowing.
The mother wrote that she didn’t know how long he would last but she was hoping for the best. She was just happy to have a little extra time, if that’s all it ended up amounting to.
The little one kept fighting for his life and the mother ended up writing an additional update, saying: “Karson is officially off oxygen and is maintaining his saturation. He is now able to regulate and maintain his own body temperature and no longer requires thermoregulation.”
The entire family was able to leave the hospital on March 1, 2022. They were so happy that the little baby would be coming home that week. She posted again on Facebook, saying that she is so thankful and constantly thanks God for what happened.
