The 2022 CMA Awards are quickly coming, and many of country music’s top artists will be in attendance on November 9 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

Alan Jackson, who will be recognized with the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, will return to the celebration. Organizers will, no sure, be crossing their hopes that his presence goes off without a hitch.

Alan reportedly stormed out of the CMAs ceremony in 2016 as Beyonce and the Dixie Chicks performed to commemorate the CMAs’ 50th anniversary.

Alan had made it obvious before to the event that he is not a fan of pop stars performing at country music award events.

“Yeah, they might play some true country music,” Alan stated when asked about his aspirations for the CMAs’ 50th anniversary ceremony.

“However, I understand the darn television station trying to garner ratings with anything they think will prop it up, with some huge event with some other type of performer on there.”

Beyonce performed at the 2016 CMAs alongside the Dixie Chicks.

“Yeah, hopefully it’ll be a good country music show for a change,” he continued.

While many appreciated the performance despite Beyonce’s lack of country music experience, Alan didn’t get his wish and appeared to storm out of the ceremony.

Alan “stood up from the front row and walked out in the middle of the concert,” according to one Nashville manager, Billboard reported at the time.

Alan allegedly left the stage during the performance.

Alan might not be happy this year, either, because Hollywood celebrity Jessica Chastain and Los Angeles Dodgers player Mookie Betts are both scheduled to deliver an award.

The 2022 ceremony, on the other hand, is jam-packed with country singers who will take the stage to delight the star-studded audience, including Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, and many more.
