The 69-year-old serves as an executive producer on the movie’s Broadway musical adaptation, which is based on the original 1985 drama and novel of the same name from 1982.
Oprah – who played the character Sofia in the original 1985 film – donned a striking, regal violet gown that highlighted her curves and showed off her impressive physique for the special event. She accessorized her ensemble with a dazzling purple clutch bag and purple slingback heels.
Fans couldn’t get over the icon’s glamorous look and took to the platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their awe-struck reactions.
One user exclaimed that the media mogul looked “SNATCHED!” while another remarked that she “looks amazing,” in her purple gown, adding: “Go head girl.”
Grammy-nominated singer Victoria Monet also praised: “Oprah looks amazing!! ate that carpet up.”
A fourth shared a similar sentiment, writing: “I don’t know what Oprah has been doing…but honey she’s been looking snatched af lately! She looks amazing!”
Lucky for us, the television personality revealed the secret behind her sensational transformation during an interview with Entertainment Tonight‘s host Kevin Frazier on the red carpet.
Frazier told the Golden Globe winner she was looking “divine in purple” and then asked: “What’s going on? Because if this is WeightWatchers, please, sign me up tonight!”
Per the outlet, she stressed just how much she’s had to do to achieve her new look, stating: “Well it’s not one thing, it’s everything … and I intend to keep it that way.”
Oprah also noted that she “was on that treadmill” hours before the premiere kicked off.
This is not the first time the Oscar-nominated actress left fans in awe after a red-carpet appearance as last week, she stunned at the third Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
Due to Oprah’s recent public appearances, there has been a lot of commotion surrounding her health and fitness, with many questioning whether she’s joined the list of celebrities using Ozempic to slim down.
However, two months ago, the stalwart TV host confessed on her The Life You Want series that she once contemplated using the Type 2 diabetes medication but ultimately decided against it.
“One of the things I carried so much shame for, and even when I first started hearing about the weight loss drugs, at the same time I was going through knee surgery and I felt, ‘I’ve got to do this on my own because if I take the drug, that’s the easy way out,’” she said, per Daily Mail.
“There’s a part of me that feels – like I think a lot of people feel with bariatric surgery – that I’ve got to do it the hard way, I’ve got to keep climbing the mountains, I’ve got to keep suffering and I’ve got to do that because otherwise I somehow cheated myself,” she added.
The Colour Purple is set to hit theaters on December 25.
