According to Rachel Moore, spokesperson for the Alvin Independent School District, Kenlee, who finds the cafeteria environment challenging, laid down on the stage that morning, covering her head with a blanket. When Mrs. Esther passed through the cafeteria, witnessing Kenlee’s distress, she promptly laid down beside her to offer comfort.

A poignant photo captured the moment, depicting Kenlee wrapped in a blanket, curled up on the wood floor. Beside her, McCool is shown in a similar position, with a comforting arm around the student.
