However, what they initially believed to be a typical pregnancy would take a shocking turn that rendered people indignant all over the world.

Oksana and Sergey had decided that two children would be the ideal number for their family and had never intended to expand it.

The couple agreed that they simply did not have the resources to support additional children.

However, Oksana had the feeling that she was carrying more than one child from the beginning of her pregnancy.

She was unable to help but notice that something was off.

“No one in our family had ever been pregnant with twins. I was sure I would never experience anything like this”, Heftig, a German news organization, receives the information from Oksana.

However, this was really just the beginning, and there was still a bigger surprise in store for us.

The doctor was scowling when Oksana arrived for her scan.

Astonishing news then came to her shortly after.

“When I saw the shock on the doctor’s face, my heart stopped for a moment,” Oksana says, and continues:

“Then I heard him mumble something along the lines of: ‘You deserve to have a big house by the sea…’”

The doctor said, “I can see five fetuses, maybe six. It’s hard to tell.”

It turned out that Oksana was carrying five children.

This is incredibly uncommon, as you might obviously guess.Only one pregnancy out of every 47 458 321 ends in quintuplets.

The doctor dashed wildly around the hospital while Oksana was still trying to digest the news.It was something no one at the hospital had ever seen before.

For Oksana and Sergey, things weren’t all happy faces, though.

“It almost felt like a nightmare, as though I would wake up at any moment,” remembers Oksana.

Because she and her husband knew they would have to rethink all of their future plans, they worried uncontrollably.

“It takes time to process this kind of news. I mean, how would we manage to take care of so many children,”, says husband Sergey.

Oksana visited the hospital in her 30th week of pregnancy to start labor preparations.

Eight doctors were waiting for her when she entered the delivery room.

“The treated me like I was made of porcelain– they were extremely cautious,” Oksana says.

By C-section, Oksana gave birth to two girls and three boys.

Given the high dangers associated with this type of pregnancy, the doctors were ready for the worst.

But once it was all over, the medical professionals could vouch for the fact that five healthy, content babies had been born, albeit a little prematurely.

Babies Instantly famous were Daria, Alexandra, Denis, Vladislav, and David.

The infants are now 3 years old.

The infants were the first quintuplets to be born in Ukraine, making the birth historic.

The challenge of looking after such a large family appears to have been accepted by Oksana and Sergey.

People stop to joyfully greet them wherever they go and are enthralled by the babies.

The family just relocated to a larger apartment, which they were able to arrange with the aid of the local government.

Oksana posts images of their “five treasures” and the adorable big sister of the quintuplets on her Instagram page.

Even though the outcome wasn’t quite what this family had hoped for, I am confident that they will have a happy and prosperous future!
