Tom Selleck Tells Us How He Spoils His Wife Of 36 Years With A Touching Morning Ritual

There are many things that go into having a long-lasting and loving marriage. Sometimes, we may go out of our way to ensure the comfort of our significant other, and at other times, we may be the recipient of such actions.

As far as celebrity marriages are concerned, however, we don’t often give them the credit they deserve. Far too many high-profile marriages have ended poorly and quickly, making us feel as if celebrity marriages never last. That is not the case.

Tom Selleck is an example of someone who is in a great relationship. It isn’t his first marriage, but it is one that has lasted 36 years after he married Jillie Mack. We don’t often think of him as being a family man, but he certainly fills that role.

Prior to the time that he was married to his current wife, he was married to Jacqueline Ray. They married in 1971 and separated in 1979. They weren’t sure where to go from there but they lived separately for a long time. They were divorced in 1982.

After his first marriage ended, he went through a very difficult stretch. He called it one of the great sorrows of his life because they could not be together, even though he had planned to be married for the rest of his life.

Despite the fact that he had difficulties with his love life in his first marriage, things seemed to turn around in 1984 when he was in London and met Jillie Mack.

After they met, it wasn’t long before they were dating. The funny thing is, she had no idea who he was because she didn’t have a television, as it was stolen a few months before they met.

Eventually, they were in Lake Tahoe at a small chapel and got married in 1987. They managed to elude the press for a month to enjoy some privacy before they were faced with the paparazzi again.

He wanted to do it in privacy because he doesn’t like being in the limelight, despite the fact that he is known and loved by millions of people around the world. He said that he even told his agent that he didn’t know if he could do it unless you found a way to do it in his own way.

They didn’t want the pictures from the wedding to show up in the papers, so they took Polaroid pictures that didn’t have negatives. Eventually, however, the news was out and the pastor who performed the wedding gave the details.

Tom’s parents went with the couple to the County Clerk’s office in Reno and picked up a $27 wedding license. They went to the church in casual clothes, got changed into their wedding attire and the $75 ceremony continued.

According to the report from the pastor, they were nervous on their wedding day and Tom wanted the ceremony to be just right for his new wife. After marriage, they went to his ranch in California and began their life together.

This all occurred while Tom Selleck was filming Magnum PI, so he was working long hours and sometimes, would put 90 hours in a week. In 1988, he took a step back from his career because of their daughter, Hannah, being born.

They enjoy spending time at their ranch house, which has an avocado orchard, swimming pool, and stables. In the morning, they go their separate ways and meet up during the middle of the day.

Sometimes, Tom will see his wife as she is headed past in some running shoes and shorts with their five dogs. He will shout out a greeting, calling her by her nickname, ‘Macksy’.

Tom admits that he doesn’t know what the secret is to their long marriage but he says he is happy. He said that one possible thing that helps them to stick together is because they nurture their marriage, including taking time away from work.

They also wanted to ensure that their daughter grew up loving the country lifestyle. They did so by raising her at the ranch, and Hannah eventually went to university and has a career working with horses.

In the morning, Tom always wakes up before his wife and makes sure there is hot water in the teakettle so she can have some hot tea. He said that he thinks he is pretty romantic, and it seems like a very romantic gesture.

They have been together for a total of 40 years, 36 of which were married. He is still deeply in love with his wife and the feeling is mutual. We wish them all the best and many more happy years together.
