It is been no secret that there was a significant problem between Tom Cruise and his daughter, Suri. According to reports, they had not spoken in many years.
Now that she has turned 18, she has the opportunity to make a change and to do so legally. That is when Suri Cruise, the daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise changed her name. More specifically, she removed her father’s surname.
She was in New York for the musical, Head Over Heels when she made the announcement. It was actually in the casting sheet for the play where she was listed as Suri Noelle.
The name change shows that she was to adopt her mother’s middle name rather than having her father’s last name. After the decision was made, she was strolling through New York City wearing earphones and was not bothered by the paparazzi taking pictures.
This is also a change from what is on her birth certificate, as she did inherit her father’s surname during that time.
