Many of us would like to think that love is easy to understand but there are going to be times when it doesn’t fit into a nice, neat scenario. That is the case in the following marriage which has many people wondering.

Stereotypically, the marriage involves people of different ages but they are often within a few years of each other. The man would be traditionally older than the woman, but it does happen often in other ways.

Then you have the story of Susan and Peter, who don’t have what you would consider to be a traditional marriage. Peter is a young and attractive individual and he fell in love with Susan, despite the fact that she was a divorced older woman with two adult children.

They may have differences, but they have been happily married and it seems as if they are moving forward on their adventures in life.

Peter first met Susan when he was 16 years old. She was an acquaintance of his mother. She wasn’t strikingly beautiful and she wasn’t rich, but that didn’t stop him from finding her attractive. He developed feelings and before you knew it, he confessed his love to her.

The problem was, there was a 33-year age gap between the two of them. Peter didn’t mind it and when he turned 18, he expressed his love to her but she rejected his affection at first. She just wanted to think about the relationship before she rushed into it because of the social aspect.

Despite the fact that there were many stereotypes involved, 19-year-old Peter ended up marrying 52-year-old Susan. Her children were even happy about the marriage, although others were opposed to the union.

They ended up defying all the odds and six years into the marriage, they continue to be a wonderful couple. It really shows you that love is possible despite the odds and it can triumph, regardless of the circumstances.
