You don’t have to look very far to hear information about the breaking competition at the Olympics. One dancer in particular really took the spotlight, and not for all the right reasons.

I’m sure that the breakdancing moment when Raygun gave her interpretive dance at the 2024 Paris Olympics will live in infamy. There are many now, however, who are questioning how she managed to get into the Olympics in the first place.

Rachel Gunn (Raygun) has taken a lot of flak since she appeared in the Olympics and scored 0.0 in the competition. What is not being shown is a comparison of somebody breakdancing alongside with her video from the Olympics, which really shows how she fell short of the mark.

It’s not unusual for social media to jump on board when somebody does something wrong. They’ve all come together to shine the big spotlight on some breakdancers who showed a level of talent that was above and beyond. This includes someone who is missing a leg.

After the 2024 Paris Olympics, the games continued with the Paralympics. One particular Paralympian group was the breaking group. There weren’t any familiar faces to most, but it was a group of men that had crutches for the most part and they showed the true spirit behind breaking.

After these videos hit the Internet, they started posting them side-by-side with the dance from Raygun. As is the case with most Olympic videos, particularly of that breaking performance, the videos were taken down as a result of a copyright strike.

There were many people who were upset with how things went down. This is especially true considering that some of the Olympians from the Paralympics were doing such a phenomenal job with only one leg.

Many people also started accusing Raygun of wrongdoing to the comments, saying that she had scammed the competition using her husband. In particular, the commentor said: “Because she and her husband rigged the competition and froze out all the real breakdancers so she could get a free trip to Paris and do a r******d rendition of interpretive dance.”

If you are able to find the two videos side-by-side, you can easily tell that there is a difference in the skill set. You will not be able to see it in the future, however, because the Olympic Committee made the decision to remove breaking from the competition and the Paralympics are going to do the same.

Who knows what’s going to happen in 2028 but for now, it’s just a moment that will have to live in our memory until something else shocking comes along.
