Our family is one of the most important things to many of us as it is a relationship that we treasure for a lifetime. The unfortunate reality for some, however, is that the family is not always there for them.

That was the case with the young man in this video. He was an orphan, and his mother and father had abandoned him, leaving him to be cared for by his aunt Sarah.

He really appreciated all that his Aunt Sarah had done for him and he decided that he would write her a letter to ask her to adopt him. They had him sit in front of a camera to read the letter, which they said they would send the video to his aunt.

What the young man didn’t know was that his aunt Sarah was actually in the room with him. Shortly after he started reading the letter, she snuck into the room behind him and she heard the entire thing.

“Since Mom and Dad left, you’ve been like my superhero,” he said. “Imagining you as my mom feels pretty darn amazing.”

He went on to say: “I know being my legal mom comes with responsibilities, but I promise to do my best and make you proud. I wanna be part of your family in every way. You show me what family really means, and I can’t think of anyone better to call my mom.”

After he finished reading the letter, he was told to turn around. That is when he saw his aunt Sarah standing behind him and she agreed to be his mother. They then hugged, and it’s one of the most touching things we have seen in a long time.
