Original Member Of Lynyrd Skynyrd Has Died At 71

Music is something that all of us appreciate but there may be differences in the way that we appreciate it and the specific type of music that we may listen to. For many who love music with a driving beat, Lynyrd Skynyrd is a group not to be ignored.

Unfortunately, one of the original band members from Lynyrd Skynyrd has passed away. Gary Rossington, who was a guitarist in the band, had survived a plane crash in 1977 when it ran out of fuel but he was not able to survive forever.

Three other band members lost their lives in that plane crash but Gary Rossington was able to survive. He passed away on March 6, 2023, although the exact cause of death was not disclosed.

A release by the band honored him, saying: “It is with our deepest sympathy and sadness that we have to advise, that we lost our brother, friend, family member, songwriter and guitarist, Gary Rossington, today.” The band continued, “Gary is now with his Skynyrd brothers and family in heaven and playing it pretty, like he always does. Please keep Dale, Mary, Annie and the entire Rossington family in your prayers and respect the family’s privacy at this

difficult time.”

It has been noted that he has not been playing with the band for quite some time. His career has changed over the years, but he continued to be a strong force in music.
