Making a bold change to your appearance can be both empowering and nerve-wracking. For me, choosing to cut my hair into a pixie cut was a step toward shedding negativity and embracing a new, more confident version of myself.
However, the reaction I received from my husband was anything but supportive. He told me I looked “awful, like a man,” and even suggested I wear a wig until my hair grows back. His words cut deeper than the scissors that gave me my new look, leaving me to question my decision.
But as I’ve reflected on his harsh reaction, I’ve come to realize something important—how I feel about myself is what truly matters.
