Michael J. Fox Stands Up From His Wheelchair And Gets Standing Ovation At The BAFTAs

Many actors have touched our lives over the years but perhaps none quite as much as Michael J Fox. He was in some of the greatest movies that were made, including Back to the Future, but his career was cut short.

After Michael J Fox came public with his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, things really took a turn for him. He continued to work and he continues to be an inspiration, but he is now limited to a wheelchair.

Nobody was surprised to see him come out on the stage at the 2024 BAFTAs being pushed in a wheelchair. They were absolutely floored, however, when he stood up from the wheelchair and took his place at the podium.

David Tennant, the host of the awards welcomed the 62-year-old actor onto the stage. When he stood up and took his place at the podium, everyone in the audience was thrilled. They also were on their feet for a well-deserved standing ovation.

People who commented on the video on Instagram were thrilled with what he was able to do. Not only did it bring tears to their eyes, it also showed them what people were able to do when they really put their minds to it.

Despite the fact that he is dealing with advanced Parkinson’s disease, Fox was very positive with his appearance on stage. He said: “There’s a reason why they say movies are magic because movies can change your day. It can change your outlook. Sometimes it can change your life.”

He was at the award show with his wife, who has supported him throughout his diagnosis. They appeared on the red carpet and showed just how strong their relationship was.

It’s amazing to think that Fox has been dealing with Parkinson’s disease for more than three decades. Recently, he also spoke frankly about his death and he tried to be positive about it as well.

It is unusual for somebody to live this long with Parkinson’s disease and he has had a number of other health issues, including infections, broken bones, and a spinal tumor.

He continues to deal with his situation as he can and although the disease is advancing and taking a toll, he will be there till the very end as a positive force for all of us.
