Manhunt For Charlie Kirk’s Suspect Continues

The FBI confirmed it is working closely with state and local authorities to investigate the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, at Utah Valley University (UVU). The shooting took place during a public event on campus around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday. The FBI has requested public assistance for any images, videos, or information that could help identify the shooter.

FBI Director Kash Patel expressed strong support for the ongoing investigation, while Utah’s Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason described the incident as a “targeted attack.” Authorities believe the shooter wore all-dark clothing and fired from a distance—possibly from a rooftop overlooking the student courtyard. Surveillance footage is being reviewed, but no suspect is currently in custody.

Donald Trump released a video condemning the attack and accusing the “radical Left” of inciting violence through inflammatory rhetoric. He stated that for years, individuals like Kirk have been demonized, leading to real-world consequences. Trump and Kirk had a close relationship, with Kirk playing a key role in mobilizing young voters during the 2024 elections.

Kirk, 31, was a father of two and a major figure in the conservative youth movement. He launched Turning Point USA in 2012 at just 18 years old. After being shot, Kirk was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterward. The attack has prompted widespread grief across political lines.

Numerous political leaders have responded. Vice President J.D. Vance, Utah Senator Mike Lee, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth called for prayers, while Democratic Governors Gavin Newsom, Josh Shapiro, and Wes Moore all condemned the shooting as a vile act of political violence. Former Vice President Kamala Harris said the event deeply disturbed her.

Officials continue to investigate, and the nation watches closely as calls for justice and unity grow louder amid increasing concerns about politically motivated violence.
