The daughter of an Army veteran killed over a parking space broke down in tears as she revealed they had only recently rekindled their relationship.

New Jersey native Bart Diguglielmo, 62, a retired staff sergeant with the US Army, was shot dead by a female shopper outside a store in North Lauderdale on Tuesday afternoon in a deadly confrontation captured in a chilling video.

“I just don’t think anybody deserved to lose their life over a parking spot,” his daughter, Amanda, told Local 10 in an emotional interview.

“He was a good man,” she said before breaking down in tears.

She admitted that her father wasn’t “perfect,” revealing that they had only recently repaired their relationship after being estranged for many years.

But Amanda insisted her father would never leave a woman feeling so threatened she would have to shoot him in self-defense, which the so-far-unidentified shooter told cops after she was detained.

“I heard one news site say it was over a parking spot. Another says it was because my dad was making some type of advance towards the woman, which I will completely debunk because my dad is not that person,” the grieving daughter said.

“He’s not perfect, but not someone that would do this to this extreme.”

Amanda said she was “hesitant” to talk but wanted her father “to be remembered for who he was and not who the media is portraying him to be.”

Video shows Diguglielmo arguing with the unidentified woman — who suddenly pulled out a gun and shot him. He clutched his stomach and fell to the gun, with witnesses saying the shooter continued shouting at him even as he lay on the ground bleeding

Diguglielmo, originally of Hammonton, New Jersey, but now living in Lauderhill, Florida, was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center, where he later died.

The shooter remained at the scene after the shooting and was detained for questioning, detectives confirmed.

She maintained she only fired in self-defense and is cooperating with the investigation, officials said, saying the investigation is still looking at whether charges should be filed.
