A 25-year-old woman from New Jersey has been arrested after authorities accused her of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 and recording the alleged abuse on video before sharing at least one clip on Snapchat.
According to investigators, Victoria Anne Cranmer was identified through distinctive tattoos visible in a 14-second video that was reportedly discovered on a cellphone she had returned to a former roommate. The device, which had been given to her as a birthday gift, was left in a mailbox after she moved out following a dispute.
Police say the former roommate found multiple videos showing Cranmer and the child in a bathroom and immediately contacted authorities. Investigators later obtained a search warrant for the phone, where they allegedly uncovered additional evidence related to the case.
Officials also allege that Cranmer was laughing during the recorded incident and that at least one of the videos had been uploaded to Snapchat.
She was arrested on Tuesday and now faces multiple charges, including sexual assault, creating and possessing child sexual abuse material, and child endangerment.
Following her arrest, Cranmer was booked into the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, where she remained in custody as of Friday. Court records did not list an attorney representing her.
