We sometimes judge people by what we see on the outside, but we can learn in the most unusual ways that we are wrong. Unfortunately, that is what happened was Stephanie Smith, a 41-year-old mother of two who was on vacation in the Dominican Republic with her boyfriend.

A friend of Smith’s, Maria joined her on vacation. It seemed as if everything was going well and Smith was described as being very active, running on the beach, going to the gym, and being her usual self.

When they went to head home after the vacation, Smith posed for a group photo with the hotel staff.

Smith was flying home with her boyfriend and he was sitting next to her. He thought that she didn’t look well and he accused her of joking around but then she started to convulse.

The statement was released by the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands police force after the plane made an emergency landing in Turks and Caicos. Smith received CPR while she was in the air and after landing at the airport, she was transferred to a nearby medical center. Doctors pronounced her dad after she arrived.

Nobody is aware of any pre-existing medical conditions and she seemed healthy before she got on the plane. You can learn more about the story in the following video:
