Hailey Merkt, a vibrant contestant from Season 21 of The Bachelor, has sadly passed away at the young age of 31 after bravely fighting cancer. Her family shared the heartbreaking news.

In a touching Instagram post, her family expressed, “With our hearts shattered, we announce that our beloved Hailey has passed away after fighting for her life courageously. Hailey faced this arduous journey with grace, strength, and selflessness beyond measure.”

Hailey was known for her infectious sense of humor and lively personality, leaving an everlasting impact on everyone she encountered.

On July 26, her family reflected, “Her determination, courage, and will to live extended beyond every prognosis. Hailey chose to spend her final days surrounded by loved ones, embracing all the things she cherished without regret.”

Describing Hailey as a person who truly lived life to its fullest, her family stated, “Hailey was anything but boring. Always dazzlingly funny and living in the moment to the fullest, she has left an indelible impression on everyone she met.”

“Her laughter, love, and vibrant spirit are deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Hailey’s impact on our hearts will never be forgotten,” they shared.

The family, amidst many emotional tributes, expressed solace in the lasting impact and memory of Hailey in the lives she touched. They said, “Even as we mourn Hailey’s loss, we take comfort in knowing her vibrant spirit lives on in all who knew her. Rest peacefully, Hailey.”

Hailey candidly shared her tough battle with leukemia on social media, offering followers insight into her personal experiences.

A GoFundMe page set up by her family revealed that she had undergone a bone marrow transplant earlier this year, instilling initial hope. Doctors had given her nine cancer-free months to enjoy her life. Tragically, just a mere six weeks later, the leukemia reappeared aggressively.

Through it all, Hailey maintained her positivity, sharing moments from her treatment journey on Instagram, alongside fashion and lifestyle inspirations. In one October post, she shared a rare smile during these tough times, captioning it: “A rare moment caught smiling during treatment :).”

During this challenging journey, Hailey’s family expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming support they received and encouraged others to share fond memories of her.

Many of her fellow participants from Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor were deeply affected and expressed sorrow over losing their friend.

Vanessa Grimaldi, the winner of that season, shared, “Our beautiful girl!  This news shattered me. You were such a beacon of light; your beautiful, big smile is unforgettable. Rest easy, dear friend!  Sending warm hugs to your loved ones.”

Danielle Maltby also offered a heartfelt tribute: “I’m incredibly grateful to have known your laugh and to have met your genuine, warm, and beautiful soul in the most unexpected of places. Forever thankful for our friendship here and in the real world… What a force you were, rest easy  Sending my love to everyone close to you.”

Dominique Alexis expressed her emotions, saying, “My dear, I hope you are now in a place of peace and beauty. The thought of not seeing you again is hard, but I will treasure all our memories. Love you .”

Raven Gates shared her sadness, adding, “Oh my gosh! I’m heartbroken to hear this  I had hoped for your recovery. Rest easy, Hailey  You’ll always be remembered.”

As Hailey wished, there will not be an official funeral. Instead, her family hopes that those whose lives she touched will continue to honor her memory through the cherished moments they shared with her.
