Customers rage over door sign, restaurant’s response is brilliant -

You might be familiar with the veterans discount. Our community is kept safe and orderly by the dedicated individuals in law enforcement.

It’s surprising how numerous individuals feel undervalued even though their profession is one of the most demanding and vital in our country.

Typically, regardless of the time or date, our store policy was to provide a complimentary meal to anyone dressed in uniform. This initial concept aimed to express gratitude towards local officers by offering a discount on our chicken. As a result, this fresh approach was soon to gain more recognition on the internet.

Numerous conversations arose when this image was shared on a Facebook page named Ohio Going Blue.

Despite the fact that it received more than 10,000 likes and was shared 6000 times, there were still numerous different perspectives.

Commenters expressed their doubts about the necessity of extending this offer to the police. Some even mentioned that as officers, they would rather not receive any special treatment and would be willing to pay for it on their own. The comments from the Facebook page administrators also echoed similar sentiments.

I want to share a positive message, but it seems that some people are missing the larger perspective. As a police officer, I never assume that I should receive anything for free, whether I’m in uniform or not. There are other officers who feel the same way. We don’t seek “special treatment”. The reason I’m posting this is because KFC is showing appreciation for law enforcement. And to those who mentioned that other first responders should also be recognized, my answer is a resounding YES.

The sign will continue to be displayed in the store, even though it has attracted a lot of media attention.

Let this sign be a heartfelt salute to the brave officers who risk their lives, reminding them that we truly value and appreciate their unwavering dedication.
