Having a partner who is cheap is frustrating. While individuals have the right to spend their money however they see fit, this freedom takes on a new dimension in committed relationships.

Having read about the widow who told her avaricious husband that she would bury him with all of his money, I can only surmise that greed is involved.

That was essentially his final request…

The dying husband’s selfish wish was to have all of his wealth buried with him. What his wife did was a stroke of genius.

Regardless, his wife is an honorable person who intended to keep her word despite the absurdity of the scenario.

Obviously, though, she was hoping to find a way to sidestep the ludicrousness of his proposal.

A man had worked hard his whole life and put away all of his earnings.

When it came to his finances, he was a total cheapskate. Before he passed away, he told his wife, “Now listen, when I die I want you to take all my money and place it in the casket with me.” He valued wealth beyond all else. Just so I can take a fat wad of cash with me when I die.

So he had his wife swear on her honor that she would bury all of their wealth alongside him. The day that he passed away.”

His wife sat in all black by his side as he lay out flat in the coffin. When the funeral was over and the casket was about to be closed, the wife said, “Wait a minute.”

She brought a shoebox with her and deposited it in the coffin. The casket was closed, and the funeral directors rolled it away.

‘I hope you weren’t crazy enough to put all that money in there with that stingy old man,’ her buddy had warned.

“Yes,” she said, “I promised. I wouldn’t lie because I’m a decent Christian. I made a pact with him that I would bury the cash next to him.”

The woman responded, “I did.” “I gathered up the funds, deposited them in my bank account, and sent him a check,” she said.
