RANGER Rich Homie Quan passed away at his Atlanta home on Thursday.

His age was thirty-four.

This hip-hop artist is also known as Dequantes Devontay Lamar. His popular songs included “Living a Life” and “Type of Way.”

On Thursday afternoon, TMZ was informed by Rich Homie Quan’s family and a nearby morgue that the information was accurate.

His family told the news outlet that his untimely death has left them “shattered” and “heartbroken.”

The Fulton County Medical Examiner has scheduled an autopsy for tomorrow, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. It’s still unclear what killed Quan.

On Thursday, the well-known Atlanta rapper Boosie Badazz announced the rapper’s passing on X, formerly Twitter.

“JUST TALK TO WUAN THE OTHER DAY,” the Wipe Me Down rapper recalled.

After Boosie’s tweet was reposted by the podcast No Jumper, fans left the rapper a ton of heartfelt comments.

One fan wrote on Twitter, “Man hell nah, this can’t be true.”

This makes me very depressed. Another person exclaimed in shock, “Can’t be real.”

On Twitter, R&B artist Jacquees, who frequently collaborated with Rich Homie Quan, expressed his sympathies by writing, “Rest in Peace, my brother, Rich Homie Quan.” You will always be loved by me. “Rich Gang.”

After learning of Quan’s passing, a friend of rapper Richard Stark posted on Instagram Story, saying, “I’m devastated.”

Rich Homie Quan’s ascent

Rich Homie Quan began his career in 2011. However, his single “Type of Way,” which peaked at number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100, didn’t become a huge hit with the general public until 2013.

His 2015 single Flex performed even better, peaking at number 26 on the charts.

Quan was a member of Cash Money Records’ spin-off project Rich Gang, which also included fellow Atlanta rapper Young Thug. “Lifestyle,” their 2014 single, became an early hit.

Additionally, they collaborated on “Up, Up & Away” the following year and the club hit “Tell Em” that same year.

On Tuesday, Rich Homie Quan was mentioned during Young Thug’s ongoing criminal trial.

Gang Up, a rapper who violated Georgia’s RICO law and committed multiple violent crimes, will soon be sent to prison.

YSL Woody, a hip-hop artist, attempted to question Young Thug about his relationship with Quan during his testimony.

Young Thug reportedly laughed back.

THE LEAVE OF RICH GANG

Quan recently discussed his relationship with Young Thug and the dissolution of the Rich Gang group on several podcasts, including VladTV and No Jumper.

Although he remained silent regarding the accusations made against his former groupmate, he did state that Young Thug’s participation in street activities was more widespread than he preferred.

He said to Adam Grandmaison, better known as Adam22, host of No Jumper, “S**t was getting a little too street from me.”

Quan stated, “I wasn’t brought up in a particular manner—that stuff doesn’t even fit with my morals as a man.”

Quan has four sons. The eldest of his children, Devin, was born in 2006.

Devin was unknown to the rapper until five years after his son was born.

The Rich Homie Quan’s final social media post was shared on September 3.

With the caption, “Vision clear even through the BS,” the Instagram photos featured the Flex artist getting ready for a show before slaying the stag.
