Fans were understandably worried earlier this year when Madonna was suddenly hospitalized.

The Queen of Pop was supposed to start her Celebration Tour in Vancouver on July 15, performing her biggest hits from 1983 to now across 53 shows in North America and Europe. However, she had to postpone the tour after being rushed to the hospital with a bacterial infection.

Initial reports revealed that Madonna was found unresponsive on Saturday, June 24, and was taken to a New York City hospital where she was intubated.

Shortly after, a family member of the Grammy-winning artist told *Entertainment Tonight* that her family had been “preparing for the worst” after the news broke. “For the past couple of days, no one really knew which way this was going to go, and her family was getting ready for the worst,” they said.

“That is why it was kept a secret since Saturday,” they added. “Everyone thought we might lose her, and that was the reality of the situation.”

*Radar Online* reported that Madonna’s time in the hospital was more serious than first thought. Medics who treated the unresponsive star at her apartment had to give her a NARCAN injection.

Luckily, the singer was later released from the hospital and could continue her recovery at home. Her Celebration Tour is now in full swing, with the *Vogue* star receiving a lot of praise for her looks after sharing several photos from her tour.

Reports say that the Paris leg of Madonna’s tour attracted a lot of attention, with fans showering her with compliments. One fan even called her “the most beautiful woman in the world.”
