He ordered a set lunch and looked out the window. For the first time in a long time, he didn’t have a hundred things to do, so he just wanted to enjoy the scenery. But the two children who were standing at the window and licking their lips, looking at how others were eating, really touched him, so he decided to treat them.
The two young children followed the grown man. He gave them a menu and asked with a smile what they would like to eat. Confused, they set the menu aside and pointed to the dish he had ordered for himself. The man called the waiter and ordered two more of the same.
The brother and sister looked at each other and then began to taste the soup, slowly at first, as if they were afraid of something, and then with all their might. For dessert, he ordered them ice cream. And then the kids went home, and the man ordered himself some more coffee, feeling that he deserved it today because he had done something good.
Soon the waiter brought him the bill, and he was stunned to see a note instead of the usual numbers:
«Every one can’t be saved! Today, however, you were able to save two! That’s enough!»
The man stared at the note for a long time, then took it with him. Now he had no doubt that good things also boomerang back.
