Cause of Dana Carvey’s Eldest Son’s Death Revealed

US comedian and actor Dana Carvey, known for his work on Saturday Night Live, recently shared the heartbreaking news of his eldest son’s passing. 32-year-old Dex Carvey tragically died of an accidental drug overdose. Dex was described by his father as an incredibly talented young man, with a passion for music, art, filmmaking, and comedy.

The family confirmed the news, expressing their deep sorrow and writing, “Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy. Our beloved son, Dex, died of an accidental drug overdose. He was 32 years old.” They also highlighted Dex’s many talents and his dedication to pursuing his passions wholeheartedly. In addition, they lovingly mentioned his deep love for his family, friends, and girlfriend, Kaylee, and how they will forever cherish the handmade birthday cards he made for them.

Dex Carvey passed away in his LA home, and the case regarding his death is still open. Dana Carvey and his wife Paula, married since 1983, have another son together, Thomas Carvey, who is 30 years old.

Following in his father’s comedic footsteps, Dex even had the opportunity to do an opening set for his father’s 2016 Netflix special, Straight White Male. Despite Dex’s struggles with addiction, his parents urged anyone who is facing similar challenges or loves someone who is to recognize that they are in their hearts and prayers.

Dana Carvey shared a touching photograph on Instagram, showing him and Dex laughing together, capturing the joy they experienced while working together. In another post, he expressed his frustration with the tabloids for focusing on Dex’s addictions instead of celebrating his vibrant life and many talents.
