It all started with a husband who convinced himself that something unusual was going on in his own home. Returning early from work one afternoon, he crept through the house like a detective, quietly checking behind doors, under the bed, and even inside the closets. But there was nothing suspicious at all. Just as he was about to abandon his search, a sight outside the window caught his attention — a man sitting in a bright blue Volkswagen, calmly eating a sandwich. In the husband’s mind, this could only mean one thing: the mysterious stranger he had been imagining was real.
Fueled by jealousy and a desire to make a dramatic point, the husband looked for a way to act quickly. The only object nearby was an old refrigerator, set aside to be replaced the next day. With determination, he managed to push and slide it toward the open window, sending it down in a clumsy but powerful statement. The stranger in the car was so shocked that he dropped his sandwich, shouting in confusion. Meanwhile, the husband’s own attempt at dramatic flair ended poorly — he slipped on a banana peel, spun around wildly, and collapsed onto the couch, exhausted.
In the blink of an eye, the husband found himself standing at heaven’s gate, where St. Peter greeted him with curiosity. “What exactly happened down there?” he asked. The husband, still dazed, explained how he thought his wife was hiding something, saw a stranger outside, and decided to act — with the help of a refrigerator. St. Peter couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of it all and waved him through with a smile.
But the story didn’t end there. Soon after, the man from the blue Volkswagen also arrived at the gates, still bewildered. “I was just waiting for my GPS to load when a refrigerator nearly fell on me!” he exclaimed. Not long after, a third man appeared, trembling. “One minute I was cleaning out a fridge at my girlfriend’s place… and the next, everything went dark.” St. Peter shook his head in disbelief. Three men, one refrigerator, and a chain of misunderstandings that no one could have ever predicted — it became a tale of confusion that left everyone laughing, even at heaven’s gate.
