Kevin opened up and said that his mom rarely spent time with him. She was always busy with work, and when she was home, she seemed more interested in her phone than in him. He didn’t feel loved or supported, and it broke my heart to hear him say it.
I decided to step in and offer him the care and attention he was missing. I spent more time with Kevin, playing games, helping with his homework, and simply talking. I hoped that, through my actions, he would feel valued, even if his mother wasn’t providing that.
