John Amos, of ‘Good Times’ and ‘Roots,’ di.es

(NEXSTAR) — Actor John Amos, well-known for his roles in “Good Times” and “Roots,” died in August, his son confirmed Tuesday. He was 84.

His son, Kelly Christopher Amos, shared the news in statements to multiple outlets.

“He lived a good life. His legacy will live on in his outstanding works in television and film as an actor,” he said, in part.

Amos died of natural causes in Los Angeles, reports say. Amos’ publicist, Belinda Foster, confirmed the news of his death Tuesday.
