She had a sibling and was raised by her father, an oil company executive, and her opera singer mother. She affirmed to The Guardian:
It was a small neighborhood, we were close to the coast, and we spent a lot of time outside with the kids of the neighbors,
playing football on the streets and at the beach and running around uninhibited. What could be a more ideal setting for a child?

which propelled her to popularity at the young age of 22. She became one of Mexico’s top soap opera stars as a result of the role, and superstardom seemed imminent.
Hayek set her sights on Hollywood since she was dissatisfied with her accomplishments in her own Mexico.
She wanted to work in a field outside of Mexico because there wasn’t much of an industry there, and she also wanted to act in movies.
Hayek moved to Los Angeles in 1991, despite the odds being against her, and started acting classes with Stella Adler, a well-known actor and acting coach.
Hayek has spoken about the bigotry she encountered when she first arrived in the United States,

‘When I first arrived here, there was really no competition because there was no industry or market for Latin women.
I was the first, along with Jennifer Lopez, and I believe Jennifer was my initial companion.
